The Finnish Association for Real Estate Valuation is an association for the Finnish professionals working in the real estate valuation field. The essential aim of the association is to advance the Finnish professional real estate valuation, real estate valuation based on good real estate valuation practise, and to promote common knowledge of the real estate valuation field.
The Finnish Association for Real Estate Valuation was founded in 1978. Today there are 198 members in the association, of which some 50 members are authorized real estate valuers. The association organises lectures, professional education, and conducts non-profit publishing.
There are two associations acting in the real estate valuation sector in Finland:The Finnish Association for Real Estate Valuation (SKAY), and Authorized Real Estate Valuers (AKA). The roles of the associations are different, and the associations are working in a very close co-operation. Unlike SKAY the AKA is for authorized valuers only. The Association for Authorized Real Estate Valuers aims at advancing the professional skills, promoting the familiarity, professional esteem, and supervision of interest of the authorised real estate valuers. Another aim is to advance the entrenchment and development of the authorisation system.
